Going to the Chiropractor
is a new experience for many of us. Maybe you've heard through a friend or have
done some research online. It's possible that you are just fed up with living
in pain and it's time to do something about it. In either case, your first
visit to the chiropractor will really be about getting to know the chiropractor
and discussing your history, current condition and goals. Even if this is
not your first time to a chiropractor, you will find our care that is thorough,
individualized, and gentle. Chiropractors all practice with differences,
and we are confident that our practice style will meet your needs. We work on all ages, from just days old to
As with any doctor's visit, you'll start by finishing some new patient paperwork. Upon meeting with the doctor, you'll discuss your concerns and expectations as well as have the chance to ask any questions you may have. We will perform a physical examination and only take an x-rays or other imaging if necessary. After the history and exam are completed, we will discuss your treatment plan. We like to start by relaxing your muscles with soft tissue massage before we begin the adjustments. After the adjustments we work on stretching the muscles, and giving you any at-home care or exercises. If needed, we may add other treatment modalities into your session to promote healing.
We do not have set out treatment plans that require you to commit to a large number of frequent visits, instead, we assess your needs at each appointment and schedule for appointments on a short term basis. We customize your treatment to you and will reassess if the beneficial outcome comes sooner or later. Your input to your care is important to us, and we understand that you need to be an active part to your health.
ADJUSTMENTS OR MANIPULATIONS:
Dr. Johnson does not believe that adjustments have to be forced or real painful. She uses more of a gentle and effective technique that allows the muscles to respond better and the adjustments to hold longer. She also utilizes the activator when requested or needed. She personalizes the care and treatment to each patient specifically, to get better results. Adjustments can be done in both the spine and the extremites, such as, the shoulder.
We use a variety of additional treatment modalities and therapies, such as: ultrasound, EMS, hot & cold packs, infrared heat, kinesiotaping, therapeutic exercises, manual muscle massage, & neuromuscular re-education.
Dr. Johnson works with a variety of conditions, including those that arise from: Work Comp, Auto, Personal Injury, & Sports Injuries
We offer dot exams for first time and renewals
We schedule you for a 30 minute exam that covers basic vitals to a system check, that includes but is not limited to, vision, hearing, heart, lungs, etc. We will also be performing a basic urinalysis, so be prepared to give a urine sample. We will also be checking your blood pressure so please avoid things like caffeine before your exam because it can give false elevated readings. You will need to bring your valid driver’s license, medication list if it applies, and medical documentation if it applies. If you have an exemption or waiver we must also have a copy. Please allow yourself to time to get your exams in so you have time to register your exam with your state DMV.
Exams are $90. We also will do monthly billing for those companies
who pay for their employees exams. Established patients get a discounted
DOT exam. With the exception to established contracted companies, all
exams must be paid for on the day of service, even if a recheck of vitals is
